• Parental Wellbeing and Reading With Children

    In this bilingual session, Dr Sumaya Saqr and Dr Claudine Habak, Emirates College for Advanced Education (ECAE), discuss parents' well-being and positive engagement with children through interactive shared reading. Drawing on insights from the Fathers and Reading research project in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, they share ideas on selecting diverse, contemporary, culturally relevant picture storybooks for young children. They also discuss how to weave language, literacy, and other developmental opportunities into interactive, shared reading for pleasure with children.
