How can we turn reading a story with a child from simply reading the words into an enjoyable experience filled with conversation, curiosity, and interaction?

In this practical workshop, participants will explore a range of simple and effective shared-reading strategies, from taking a picture walk and asking engaging, open-ended questions to expanding children’s responses, making connections, building vocabulary, and discovering new ways to revisit the same book again and again.

Participants will have the opportunity to try these strategies themselves and learn how to select and combine them naturally according to the book and the child, while keeping enjoyment at the heart of the reading experience.
