Micallar Walker (Mi-kay-la) is a cultural marketer, event producer and audience
development consultant with more than 20 years’ experience across books, film and
the arts. Formerly Head of Marketing at Front Row Filmed Entertainment and Head
of Events at Picturehouse Cinemas, she founded inclusive cultural consultancy Dark
Matter in 2021. Her work includes leading the Picturehouse Book Club - a nationwide
programme bringing major literary conversations to cinema audiences across the
UK. Micallar is also English Programme Manager at the Emirates Literature Foundation
in Dubai.
